Carnet Maison is available in French only. This English version is provided for convenience; in case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.
1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the Carnet Maison app, published by Nicolas Saurel, a sole trader operating under the trade name appserre (see the legal notice). By installing and using Carnet Maison, you accept them.
2. What the app does
Carnet Maison helps you keep track of your home's maintenance: maintenance plan, reminders, documents, warranties, surveys, exports. It runs on Android 8 or later, in French, without an account and offline (except for the subscription and Google Drive backup).
3. Regulatory information
- Maintenance obligations, warranty periods and survey validity periods follow French regulations as of the date shown in the app (“Réglementation à jour au…”), with a link to the official texts. They are updated with the app.
- This information is provided as an aid. It is not legal advice and may not cover your particular situation. Local rules (departmental health regulations, municipal bylaws, co-ownership rules) may add to it.
- You remain responsible for meeting your obligations. Reminders depend on the information you enter and on your phone's notifications working properly.
- The letter templates offered are for guidance only. For a dispute, consult a legal professional or an ADIL (local housing information agency).
4. Free version and Premium
- Free: 1 home, 5 appliances, 30 documents, all mandatory tasks and 3 personal tasks, 1 building project, backup to a file and a preview of exports.
- Premium: up to 5 homes, unlimited appliances, documents and projects, recommended tasks, adjustable reminder lead times, full exports (home information logbook, sale file, history), automatic backup to Google Drive.
- Premium is available through a subscription at €2.19 a month or €15 a year, or a one-off purchase at €25 with no time limit. Prices include taxes; the price that applies is the one shown in Google Play at the time of purchase.
- Payments are processed by Google Play, under Google's terms. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it in Google Play (“Payments & subscriptions”) before the renewal date. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
- The lifetime purchase is linked to your Google Play account. It remains valid on a new phone with the same account, using “Restore purchases”, for the whole life of the app.
- If your subscription ends, no data is deleted: anything above the free limits becomes read-only, and mandatory reminders continue for all your appliances.
- Refunds follow Google Play's rules. If you have any difficulty, write to us at [email protected].
5. Right of withdrawal
For digital content supplied immediately, EU and French law provide that the 14-day right of withdrawal no longer applies once performance has begun with your express consent and your acknowledgement that you lose this right (article L.221-28, 13° of the French Consumer Code). The free version lets you try the app before paying.
6. Your data and backups
Your data and documents are saved only on your phone, and in your Google Drive if you turn that backup on (see the privacy policy). Remember to back up regularly. A forgotten backup password cannot be recovered. We cannot restore data lost with a phone.
The tradespeople's details you save are for your personal use; you are responsible for how you use them.
7. Liability
We do what is needed for Carnet Maison to work properly and for its regulatory reference data to be accurate as of its update date. However, we cannot guarantee that it is entirely error-free or that it works on every device. We are not liable for a missed deadline, a fine or a refused insurance claim, nor for data loss caused by the loss, theft, failure or reset of your phone.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services.
8. Changes to the app and the terms
Carnet Maison evolves through updates, in particular to keep up with regulations. If a change significantly alters these terms, you will be told in the app before it applies.
9. Intellectual property
The app, its name, icon, texts and regulatory reference data belong to appserre. You have a personal, non-commercial right of use. The data and documents you enter belong to you.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. If there is a problem, please write to us first at [email protected]: we will look for an amicable solution.
You may also use a consumer mediator free of charge; their details will be given on this page as soon as one is appointed. Failing agreement, the dispute may be brought before the competent courts.
